Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Review

Image
Welp, the year is ending, so I thought I should close it out by doing something productive for once. Welcome to my review of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, one of the most anticipated games of this past year and directed by the highly respected Masahiro Sakurai. Announced at the end of the March 8th Nintendo Direct, showing actual gameplay during E3 2018, and then followed by two major Nintendo Directs specifically catered to it, Smash Ultimate has had people once again riding the hype train. Now that it's finally released, I've played it enough to give a proper review. A bit of a warning though, because this will contain spoilers for it's Adventure Mode: World of Light, for those of you who have yet to beat it. I will mark said spoilers with a beginning warning and ending notice in bold letters. Besides that, I will dissect most of the individual modes Smash Ultimate has to offer. Without further ado, lets dive right into it. Bit of a warning though for this game and an...

Sonic Forces Review (Old)

Okay, it's time for my own review of Sonic Forces. And before you go assuming what kind of person I am if reading this, I do consider myself a true Sonic Fan, having played and owned most of the Sonic games and overall being hooked on Sonic since I was a kid until a few years ago where I kinda lost a little interest. That doesn't mean I don't like him, though. I still do. Now enough babbling, onto my review. It will be in parts. This will be very long. WARNING: SPOILERS WILL BE IN THIS REVEIW Edit: I will include DLC in at a later date. Story: The story is good for a Sonic game. Shying away from it's light-heartedness, the game takes itself almost completely seriously, aaaand... It actually works. Sure, Sonic pops in a few jokes, but becomes more serious later down the story. It's a breath of fresh air compared to Lost World and especially Colors. It's an interesting narrative from beginning to end, though sometimes it dives in too deeply to the dark. One...

Pokemon Ultra Sun Review (Old)

So I just finished the main story of Pokemon Ultra Sun, at least getting up to the point of freeing the Festival Plaza from Rainbow Rocket. I have yet to even really start Episode Rainbow Rocket, which I'm excited to do! But here's a review of the game in sections. WARNING: SPOILERS WILL BE PRESENT Edit: By this point, I have beaten the Rainbow Rocket Episode. I will update this blog at a later date. Story : I honestly can't tell if the story is a step up or a step down from the original. I mean, we finally know what Necrozma actually is, seeing as we knew little to nothing about it in Sun and Moon, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. but besides the change in how the main story ends, the game is mostly the same, save for the final boss (DEAR LORD, ULTRA NECROZMA IS POWERFUL, AND THAT Z-MOVE). But at the same time they removed some things that made the original so good. Why in the hell did they remove Lillie from when she goes to Exeggutor Island with us!? That was one of the ...

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Review (Old)

Well, it's time. My Review on the First Party RPG Switch title known as Xenobade Chronicles 2. Funny, I haven't even completed the first Xenoblade Chronicles yet (which I have on the 3DS) and yet I've beaten the other 2 (Yes, I've beaten Xenoblade Chronicles X, even getting the Ares 90). This review will be longer than my other ones, as there's SO much to cover, and it will be in segments. Without further ado, let me begin my review. WARNING: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS, BOTH MINOR AND HEAVY. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Edit: I will update this later to match to today's standards, but this wad made before any of the DLC was released. This current review is unedited. Story : Somewhat similar to the first Xenoblade, Xenobade 2's setting takes place on the world of Alrest, a world covered by the Cloud Sea inhabited by Titans, whom the people native to the planet have long since made their home either on the back of or even inside these truly colossal beings long ago....
